“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” ~Mark Twain
“Know yourself to improve yourself.” ~ Auguste Comte
Hi Diamond! Has it crossed your mind how often you talk about your dreams, desires, hopes, traveling, trying something in particular, or experiencing something new, only to come to the conclusion that you’ve been talking about these very things and no actions have been taken to line your walk with your talk, nor to bring your talk or thoughts to fruition? When you talk and dream without taking action or actively plan for your desired outcome, nothing happens; your talk is just that, talk. Action is movement, action speaks louder than words, and taking action brings your talk and thoughts to life. What would it feel like to bring your talk to reality? How might you stop talking and start living your yearnings? “Here are 4 Ways to Let Yourself Blossom…”
1. Revive Your Inner Dreams and Desires
We all have dreams, yet many feel that their dreams are not attainable or too far from their reach, is this you (or someone you know)? How fulfilled are you in your current role, are you doing something in alignment with your purpose? Many times life circumstances and experiences can stop you at several stepping stones throughout life, and each stepping stone serves a purpose and you gain valuable experience, knowledge, growth and development along the way to your becoming. There are also times where you may get complacent and comfortable with the familiar and time cruises by and your dreams have been sidelined. What better time than NOW to “Revive Your Inner Dreams and Desires?” Put yourself first, trust in your God given gifts, potential, and abilities and go after your heart desires. Life is short and you only get one, it is not a dress rehearsal. Stop talking, start living and blossom, live in greater contentment and true fulfillment – feel the invigorating joy of your purpose and dreams. Revive and come alive. It is still there; bring it from your head to reality.
2. You Matter – Cultivate Your Relationship with You
Quiet as kept, more than not, most people provide themselves the very basic necessities on a daily basis, food, clothing, and shelter and spend most of their awaken time with busyness, distractions, and noise, so they do not have to be in touch with themselves and their inner-being and thoughts. Unfortunately, many also self-loathe themselves, and wish they could get away from their very self, however, wherever you go, there you are, you can’t escape yourself. So I want to encourage and invite you to slow down, pause, get still and quiet and think about what you love and appreciate about YOU! Spend quality time with yourself to really get to know who you truly are and what you enjoy. Be intentional in getting to know the personal you. You matter and you are worth cultivating a relationship with you. The better you know yourself, the better you are equipped to listen to your life and the messages your life is sending you, to heal your wounds and love to the deepest degree.
What is your relationship like with yourself? Who are you outside of your roles? Who are you when no one is looking? What brings you joy? What makes you laugh? What is your favorite food? When was the last time you said, “I love you” to yourself? Do you recognize your small and big achievements? Who are you, and are you happy with yourself? If not, what shifts could you make right now in your identity that will make you happy and cultivate your relationship with yourself? Being in a healthy and functional relationship with yourself, it is not about neglecting other relationships; it is about NOT neglecting the relationship you have with YOU. Treat yourself better every day, not for anyone else, but for YOU. You are worth whatever effort it takes to love on YOU. Do it for you – Blossom.
3. Exercise Your Mind and Inner Thoughts
The mind is extremely powerful, everything starts in the mind. Take heed of what you hear, you are in control and responsible for what comes into your conscious mind. Your mind determines your future by what it is dominated by. Every cable channel, streaming providers, radio stations, and social media platforms are all vying for your mind, thoughts, attention, and time. The most powerful force of you is your thoughts and your thoughts create the conditions of your mind and externalize itself. Your mind exerts an extraordinarily powerful impact on your body 24 hours a day. Medical research estimates the ultimate cause of disease is stress and 90% of what takes people to the doctor is stress-related illnesses. ~National Ag Safety Database
Become more aware of your thoughts – making them meaningful, positive, and truthful. Learn to control your thoughts with healthy, pure, lovely, and noble things you want to see reflected there. Your thoughts create your emotions and your emotions create your behavior. Your mind is a muscle, exercise it daily. What you focus on expands and where the mind goes, the body follows. A healthy mindset is a game changer. How can you begin to use your mind as an asset and not a liability? What dominating thoughts are you permitting to occupy your mind?
4. Experience Something New, Different, and Exciting
When was the last time you connected to your adventurous side? How about today? Life can become so stagnant, complacent, predictable, and routine. You go about your day in a pattern that repeats over and over day to day, you become so comfortable. Well nothing changes in your comfort zone, not much excitement or thrill happens to stretch you beyond what you are familiar with. Let’s change things up and try something totally out of your norm – like an art class, dance class, bowling, a nature hike even in the beautiful white plush snow – you decide. Try something that you have always wondered how it would be to experience, painting, coloring, crafts, sculpting, skiing or snowmobiling. Try showering with all the lights off or with just candle light. It forces you to move incredibly slow and it is so relaxing. Make sure to have safety mats in place so you do not slip on your way out. “Experience Something New, Different, and Exciting” like – a new food, event or activity to try every week. Take a mini-vacation or stay-cation and feel the exhilarating and invigorating joy as you live life and witness your reality blossom. This is your year to MOVE.
Life is precious and time waits for no one. It is time to start living and stop just talking about it. Bloom where you are and make life happen. The choice is yours.
