“There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.” ~ John F. Kennedy
“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” ~ Francis of Assisi
Confidence is built on choices and accomplishments that nourish our passion and that make us feel happy and proud of who we are. Authentic confidence is one of the most worthwhile pursuits of life, it is self-confidence built on a foundation of faith. If your confidence is low, begin building it up. It begins with your day-to-day goals, what do you need to accomplish to help meet your goal? If you accomplish the goals you set, you're going to feel much better about yourself. Keep in mind that progress takes time, and vast changes do not happen overnight.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND THAT YOU CAN DO IT! Have the mindset that you won’t quit and that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. Set a goal for yourself, and go for it. Write down whatever your goal may be, it will help you stay on course. This manifests your goals and gives them more vigor, and you will build confidence as you see the progress you're making in real time.
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone Into The New And Unfamiliar.
Failing is sometimes inevitable, yet it is not a stop sign, it's fearing that you may fail, that can keep you stuck and hinder you from moving forward. So you’re not overwhelmed, set bite-size, reasonable and measurable goals. Look inside yourself, and gather every ounce of courage you have and keep going. YOU CAN DO THIS. Every successful person has been afraid, I included, we’re all human, keep working and taking risks anyway, because what you are trying to accomplish is more important and urgent than the fear of failing. As you think about how much you want to achieve this goal, feel the natural feeling of fear and do it anyway, choose courage and faith over fear, take a few deep breaths and keep going, one day at a time. The more you step out of your comfort zone into the new and unfamiliar, you're building your confidence.
YOU HAVE IT IN YOU, believe in your goal, and believe in yourself, you're going to accomplish it. Monitor the people around you and the environments that you’re in, especially the voices in your head, those inner conversations, and the things that you say to yourself. Don't let anyone, ever make you feel like you don't deserve your dream. If you say you're going to do something, do it, let your word be your bond and belief in yourself will come easier. Action gives your words meaning, you learn by taking action, and this will help you in accomplishing your goals, and feeling proud as you build your confidence.
You have to decide if your desires for instant gratifications are more important than your long-term goals. Long-term goals will bring you far more happiness and fulfillment in the long run than your short-term comfort. Vast goals require big sacrifices, you have to dig deep and really discipline yourself, it will pay off, and the joy you feel will be worth it.
Don't Care What Others Think - Do More Of What Makes You Happy.
There may be many people who will tell you you cannot accomplish your goal. People will try to tell you your goal is too big, or that you're not ready, or that you can't do it, etc., and you absolutely cannot allow pessimistic people and their negative outlook talk you out of your dreams. You must be determined and unwavering. People change the world every day, despite someone around them telling them it can't be done. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT. Don't listen to them, believe in yourself and keep going.
Personally speaking, these things affected me for far too long, until a major crisis occurred in my life and opened my eyes and my heart to walk in my purpose and my calling. And here I am today, doing just that, and it is freedom to walk in what God has purposed for me. Whatever it is you love, create the space for it, because life is short- you need time to enrich your life and to live your best life EVER. We only get one life, be encouraged, walk in your authentic confidence!
